Beyond DV
Beyond DV aim to empower and support women and children as they rebuild their lives after domestic and family violence.
The main focus for Beyond DV is supporting families as they rebuild their lives, through innovative recovery programs and services underpinned by their holistic “Five Pillars of Recovery” Framework, delivered from their three secure centers across Brisbane and their HOPE Hub at Westfield Carindale.
2024 Pitch
Funds Raised: $24,200
Beyond DV pitched at the 2024 Equity and Inclusion event in Brisbane seeking funding for their HOPE 4 Life program that supports the recovery/ healing of children/ young people impacted by DFV. Beyond DV has established a partnership with Scouts Qld to run a bespoke pilot program for 25-30 children aged 8-13 for one year, delivering 16 weeks of scouting activities (four weeks per term). Funding will pay for the Scouts Qld program for 12 months, providing opportunities for young people to build trust, resilience, teamwork and positive connections.
The Impact
The funding supported the delivery of a 12-month bespoke early intervention program for 25 children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence, run in partnership with Scouts Queensland.
Beneficiary story:
A young boy living with a chronic illness who had experienced anxiety and isolation became fully engaged with the Scouts program. He formed strong relationships with staff and peers, while his mother received support and connection from other women at Beyond DV's centre.
