The Cova Project

The Cova Project

The global burden of menstruation is much greater than most of us realise.

The Cova Project provides menstrual cups and menstrual health education to girls and women in developing communities in Liberia, Ghana, Uganda and Malawi. They do this to combat the global issue of “period poverty”. Period Poverty refers to the unaffordability and lack of access to basic sanitary products experienced by millions of women.

2022 Pitch

Funds Raised: $26,035

Cova Project’s young, passionate Founder Geena pitched to provide menstrual cups to girls and women living in rural Uganda describing the cups as “scholarships'“ for the girls to access education.

The Impact…

With the funds raised, The Cova Project were able to provide more than 800 girls in Uganda a menstrual cup, giving them the opportunity to attend school full time. The funding was incredibly important as it helped scale up their efforts in Uganda and allowed us to continue proving our concept to the Ugandan government.
