Springwood Neighborhood Centre Co op (SNCC) offers a mix of social inclusion groups and activities aimed to increase community engagement, health and wellbeing and connection.
Springwood Neighborhood Centre is located in the Blue Mountains, NSW and works with the community to build opportunities for improving health and wellbeing though sharing in events and activities, linking young and old.

Pitched at Equity and Inclusion event to support the connection of seniors experiencing isolation with children under 5 through their intergenerational program to form long term relationships and connections. Bringing support for families and for older people, particularly those living on their own.

The funding supported a 10-week intergenerational gardening project that brought 25 seniors and children together to build garden beds, create a worm farm, and plant produce.
Impact story:
Catherine, a retired horticulturist in her late 70s living alone, shared her skills by co-designing the weekly garden program and forming a lasting friendship with another senior participant, noting that the Thursdays spent with the group were the highlight of her week. The project gave her a sense of purpose and allowed her to share her skills with others. Catherine has also been invited to pop in regularly to help maintain the garden beds now the project has ended.
