One Ball

One Ball supports children and young people across Victoria through inclusive football programs and mentoring that build confidence, belonging and life skills.

One Ball is a community football organisation supporting young people aged 5–17 across Victoria through weekly football sessions, school programs, character-strength workshops, mentoring and positive-affirmation resources. Its approach centres inclusion, mental wellbeing and positive youth development, helping young people stay active, connected and engaged in school and community.

Through partnerships with schools, councils, universities and local clubs, One Ball creates safe, positive environments where children from diverse backgrounds feel seen, supported and valued.

2023 Pitch

Funds Raised: $14,663

Through TFN’s Giving Heroes initiative which was designed to develop the next generation of changemakers. One Ball pitched for funding to assist with the costs of running the program, including equipment, facility rental and coaching staff.

6 Month Impact

12 Month Impact

The funding was effectively utilised to deliver and expand soccer programs, create and distribute positive affirmation materials, and achieve a significant increase in participation, benefiting numerous children and families. With the funds One Ball was able to support 300 children through their soccer programs.

Impact Story

In Cranbourne, many children couldn't play soccer due to financial barriers. However, the TFN funds allowed One Ball to bring its soccer program to the community. Over 40 kids joined, many experiencing organised sports for the first time. Program coordinator Amadu noticed the initially shy children gained confidence through Positive Kick Soccer Balls with affirmations and colouring booklets. Weekly sessions became a safe space for skill development and friendship. Parents and teachers observed significant improvements in the children’s confidence and leadership. The program not only taught soccer but also essential life skills, bringing hope and joy to many families.

2026 Pitch

Funds Raised: $37,050

One Ball pitched for support to expand access for new children to participate in its full year program, removing financial barriers that prevent families from enrolling.

The funding will cover participation in weekly football sessions focused on inclusion, fitness and skill-building, alongside uniforms and a character-strength workshop designed to build confidence, resilience and a positive mindset. This expansion will be delivered across Cranbourne, Port Melbourne and Maribyrnong, strengthening connection, school engagement and wellbeing for young people who can be at higher risk of isolation and disengagement.
