Happy Brain Education (HBE)

Happy Brain Education (HBE)

Providing free, culturally responsive tutoring, mentorship and wellbeing support to help marginalised young people succeed in school and beyond.

Happy Brain Education is a Victorian, youth-led non-profit working to close educational disparities for young people from refugee, migrant and low socio-economic backgrounds. Through free academic tutoring, mentorship and wellbeing programs, it supports students through critical transition points such as VCE and post-school pathways. Its unique strength is its lived experience: its executive team comes from refugee backgrounds, and the majority of its wider team is from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, shaping programs that are relatable, responsive and effective.

2026 Pitch

Funds Raised: $30,750

Happy Brain Education pitched for support to expand its regional delivery in Shepparton through its partnership with Shepparton Secondary College. Funding will enable in-person visits that complement its online model, providing face-to-face tutoring, mentorship, wellbeing workshops and family information sessions. This will help students from refugee, migrant and low socio-economic backgrounds stay engaged in VCE, build confidence and access support that is often limited in regional communities, while also helping Happy Brain Education test a scalable regional model for future school partnerships across Victoria.
