The Generous and the Grateful exists to bridge the gap and connect the incredible amount of supply with demand, for the benefit of all.
The Generous and the Grateful turns housing into home for some of the most vulnerable in the community so that they may survive, and then thrive. It supports survivors of abuse, homelessness and persecution, ensuring they have key household goods like a bed, fridge, table and sofa, which benefits both people and the planet by reducing unnecessary landfill.
2021 Pitch
Funds Raised: $80,000
Co-Founder & CEO Carmen pitched at the TFN Hybrid Live Event in Sydney to expand their ability to connect excess with need as they continue to increase efficiency and meet demand. This allows the Grateful and the Generous to continue to create homes for those facing homelessness and harm in the community.
The Impact
Since pitch night every unfunded request GG received was paid for by the TFN funds, it put beds, fridges, sofas, TV's, and more into empty humble rentals across greater Sydney. This meant that caseworker clients could then focus on much more important things than furniture, like financial literacy, trauma recovery and employability. An incredible, 321 individuals were able to live more comfortably, with dignity, as a direct result of the TFN donations.
