Cherished Pets has innovated a ground-breaking Veterinary Social Work service that addresses social issues such as mental health, accessibility, inclusion and isolation among vulnerable and disadvantaged pet owners. It provides pet care assistance as well as crisis support to vulnerable groups, including the elderly, people with disability, those experiencing homelessness or mental health crisis - enabling them to enjoy the benefits of healthy pets and a thriving human-animal bond.

The TFN funding has enabled Cherished Pets to continue to deliver their service, while developing it into the future. Everything at Cherished Pets is new and innovative, and we are living in a time where demand for support for veterinary and pet care is escalating. The TFN funding has been instrumental in enabling us to thrive through a very challenging period of time. 111+ pets and their people have been directly and indirectly supported by the TFN donations, and more in the future as part of the funding is dedicated to advocacy and the future development of their VSW service that will impact many more.
