2025 Pitch
Funds Raised: $134,500
Pitched at Thriving Young People 2025 event for support to deliver the Grow the Future Training Certificate and the ‘Hands-On’ program between term 3 and term 4 of 2025. The ‘Hands-On’ program will operate during school term and will work with young people (12-17 years old) per term who need a different learning environment than what they are getting and school. This program will use project-based learning to engage young people in meaningful activities, and they will engage two youth mentors (18-24 year old with Working With Children Credentials) to support the program.
6 Month Impact
12 Month Impact
The funding supported the delivery of the 'Hands-on' program for 12–17-year-olds who are disengaged from school and the 'Grow the Future Training Certificate' program, for 15- 24-year-olds facing barriers to employment and training. 80 young people were supported across the two programs.
Impact Story: One young person was referred to the Hands-on Monday program after disengaging from school. He started the program very reserved, but soon found his feet, developed a peer mentoring relationship with one of the youth staff, and formed social connections with other participants. He developed a keen interest in plants, and ecosystems. So much so that he decided to enroll in the Grow the Future Training Certificate. Through this program, he really developed his skills, and went on to employment not just at Grow the Future, but also in external, mainstream employment.
